The village is renowned for its huge cathedral decorated with dazzling mosaics and sculptures. It is a lively little tourist resort whose favourable climate and fertile soil have allowed citrus trees and vines to grow in abundance. Well-known for its fabulous wines and excellent olive oil, it also has a flourishing local crafts industry, which makes baskets, shoes and furniture. The Duomo (Cattedrale di Monreale) is the main draw to this town; it's fabulous. The interior is mostly mosaics.
Discovered this machine by pure chance! In front of a souvenir shop around the corner from Gelateria Mirto di Mirto Rosario with an outdoor seating area in the piazza across from the Duomo.
Pay attention at opening time of the gelateria: 7am-10pm and closure day on Wednesdays. In closing time machine isn't available
Bring your own shiny 5 euro cents and 1 euro to press. Souvenir shop will make change if they have it.
Machine 1 is at the corner of a souvenir store and restaurant. Cost to press: €1.05 each design (€1 coin and a 5 Euro cent coin). Designs all have a 'MC' (Maecri) beaded border with 'Monreale':
